| Woodbridge Township School Election Information |
| The members of the Woodbridge Township Board of Education make the critical policy decisions that guide our schools. Each April terms expire for three of the nine School Board seats and an election is held. In addition, the community is asked to approve the Township schools' budget. The choices our community makes at the polls are very important in determining what kind of schools we have in the future. As part of our commitment to quality public education in Woodbridge, CUBS has compiled the following information with respect to School Elections. This is in no way intended as an endorsement or support for any individual candidate or group but is provided solely to inform interested candidates and Woodbridge residents about what we consider to be the most important election. Know Your School Board Candidates. What characteristics or traits do you feel are you important in a school board candidate? How do you assess whether or not a candidate will be effective? These are questions we all ask ourselves each April. We've done some research, examined our own personal criteria and prepared what we feel are the "13 Essential Elements for an Effective School Board Member." Each January the NJ Department of Education/Division of Finance publishes an election and budget procedures calendar. You can locate that guide at http://www.state.nj.us/lps/elections/chron.html NJ School Ethics Act requires local board of education members to file disclosure statements; adhere to the Code of Ethics; and undergo training - find out more here Code of Ethics. You sometimes hear the Board of Education or others refer to the Code of Ethics. Since we all have our own individual code of ethics we wondered what they were referring to.
